Methodology v0.1 · Canon & versioning
Scripture canonical. Models versioned. History immutable.
Scripture does not change when our understanding changes.
Our models can.
Revelation Watch therefore separates three kinds of permanence.
Scripture is canonical. It is the fixed source against which the signal space is defined.
Models are versioned. Our interpretation of the text, taxonomy, signal definitions, and analytical methods may develop over time. When they do, the change receives a new version rather than silently replacing the old one.
History is immutable. What we believed, predicted, classified, or recorded at a given point in time remains recoverable as it existed then.
This allows understanding to deepen without rewriting the evidentiary record.
A later insight may improve the model. It cannot retroactively improve an earlier prediction.
